Just because you let them go doesn’t mean you love them any less. Sometimes it means you love them enough to let them go. You love them enough to set them free even though you know that this action will hurt you. Letting go is on no account the same as giving up. Nevertheless, it’s not that simple. It’s hard to let go of something you truly like. Imagine giving your favorite food that you haven’t eaten for a very long time and you spent the last of your money buying it, then you see a street child eating nothing but foods from the garbage bin. He/She went up to you and asked.
“Ms./Mr., can I have that food of yours?”
Is it that easy to say yes? To tell you the truth the majority of us even ignores them, trying to walk as fast as we could just so we can avoid their beseeching stares. But think about those unfortunate kids. You can buy that food a dozen of times whenever you want it and they’re stuck with garbage food.
On the other hand, letting go of someone you love is far more difficult. You can’t find another Jane in your life, another John, or whatever his/her name is. You cannot find someone who is exactly the same person you’ve once love. So if you accidentally let go of that one chance, you have just committed the worst mistake of your life. But as soon as you see that person is happy; if you, beyond doubt, love that person with all your heart then it’ll be worth it because if you love that person you’ll be happy for him/her.
